It is important to Berean that we are active in helping meet needs; both those of our church family, and those we learn about in our community. If you visit one of our worship services on Sundays, you'll hear us end each service reminding our church family and any guests to let us know if there is a need with which we can help.
Last year we started doing a special offering campaign specifically for benevolence and community outreach. We continually praise God that last year, through the faithful generosity of our church family, we raised over $8000. It was a great testament to the love our church has for others.
Each year a section of our budget is set aside to help do the most good we can when people find themselves in need. Yet, nearly every year there are more needs than funds. That is another reason last year's offering was such a blessing.
This year is no different. As a matter of fact, we currently have two families facing some trying times. Along with funds to help meet needs, we are also asking if anyone knows of a nice, affordable rent house for one of the families. Please email us if you hear of a lead.
As you can see in the image at the top of the page, LOVE is the key ingredient in the heart of the person who will give freely and generously to help others in need. We know LOVE only because God first loved us.
19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
