God's Blessings on Berean

Hope Church started as Berean Baptist Church which was organized on June 16, 1957 under the leadership of John Frier, Jr. Although the church was small, John and his wife, Ruth, had great expectations of spreading God's Word and seeing souls saved and lives changed for God's glory.

The church moved its meeting place from a storefront to a building on Murdock Road (where it was called Murdock Rd Baptist Church), then on to a larger building on Buckner Blvd before moving, in September 1973, into their building on Town East Blvd in Sunnyvale, TX. At that time there was one building that included the worship center and an educational wing. Over the years at that location, a new worship center, adult educational wing, and Student Building were added to the campus.

The church has always been very thankful for the buildings and land that God has given her to use for ministry. We are also grateful for God's hand on the ministry through more than six decades. The church has been able to support hundreds of missionaries, mission projects, and mission outreach opportunities all over the world. Included in the vast scope of missions work are about twenty church plants in New England, many churches across Texas, and others all over the United States. Today, mission work is still very close to the heart of the Hope Church family as they continue to seek ways to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

In August 2018, the church officially sold their campus of 44 years at 302 N Town East Blvd, and are preparing to build a new church campus on Hwy 80 in Sunnyvale, TX. Currently the church is meeting at New Hope Funeral Home.

During this transition to a new campus, and in preparing to be a church ready for whatever God has in store for our future, the church changed her name to Hope Church. There is much excitement and anticipation as the church purposes to bring the hope of God’s love to those in Sunnyvale, the adjoining communities, and throughout the world.

The mission of the Hope Church family is to continue what was built over the last 61 years by working hard to honor God with our lives and share God's love with all those we meet. The focus of this mission is relying on God's grace every step of the way. We appreciate your prayers for our church during this process.
