Ideas for Halloween Night

As you think through your family's involvement in this night, and if you decide to try and redeem the time, here are some things to think about.

When else do your neighbors and others from your community come to your door and give you the opportunity to talk to them? What a wonderful time to get to know them, meet their children, and share a bit of hope and love? You can let your light, the light of Jesus, shine as you meet others on this night.

"One night a year the mission field actually knocks on our front door." -Jimmy Needham

Try These Things:

* Sit out front and greet everyone

* Have some music playing

* Give away full-size candy bars

* Light up the front of your house

* Include a handout or tract from your church.

* Invite them to be your guest to a church service or event

Light in the Darkness

In John 15:19 Jesus said, "you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world."

In Romans 12:2 Paul instructed us, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind"

Being in the world, but guarding our lives from and discerning what is good takes a full-time effort. Truthfully, we can admit that it is easier said than done. There is some tough navigating through the ever-changing culture in our world today. As we strive to glorify God in our lives, often we face decisions and have questions about what would be best.

Seems like every year, there are followers of Jesus all over the world who question what (if any) kind of involvement they should have when friends & neighbors are celebrating Halloween. If you are of that mind, and struggling with that question, we encourage you to read the article below.

It has some very good insights and information on the topic of Halloween.
